近年、酒 航太は放置された自然の中や過疎の村を彷徨いながら撮影を行っています。
2023年に「山林的」、2024年に「この世のような夢」というタイトルをつけて展示をいたしました。
本展示もこれらの続編で、実世界と写真の世界の乖離を意識しつつ、新たな領域を探索しています。
忘れてゆくそのたびにひろがるのは夢心地
そよ風が運ぶのはかすかな緑の匂い
これは、音楽家・下田逸郎さんの「緑の匂い」という曲の冒頭の一節ですが、まさにこんな気分なのです。
「写真とは記憶である」と、どこかで聞いたことがあります。
けれど、どうやら僕の場合は少し違うようです。
というのも、これらの写真を見返しても、「いつ」「どこで」撮ったのか随分と曖昧なのです。曖昧なだけならまだしも、そもそも記憶すらないものもある。
ひと気のない山道を気の向くまま車で走り、なにか引っかかるものを感じた場所で降りては、ふらふらと撮影をする。
ここがどこなのかはよくわからないから、同じ場所へは戻れない。
写真の中にだけ存在するこの風景を「忘景」と呼ぶことにした。

1973年、東京都武蔵野市出身。1997年、San Francisco Art Institute卒業。
国内外の個展、グループ展にて写真作品を発表。

In recent years, Kota Sake has been photographing while wandering through abandoned nature and depopulated villages
.He held exhibitions titled Sanrinteki in 2023 and A world of waking dreams in 2024.
This exhibition is a continuation of those, exploring new realms while remaining conscious of the disconnection between the real world and the world of photography.
With every forgetting, a dreamlike feeling expands.
What the breeze carries is a faint scent of greenery.
These are the opening lines of The Scent of Green, a song by musician Itsuro Shimoda, and they perfectly capture my state of mind.
I once heard someone say, “Photography is memory.”
But in my case, that doesn’t quite seem to apply.
Looking back at these photographs, I often can’t recall clearly when or where they were taken. In fact, in some cases, I have no memory of them at all.
I drive aimlessly through deserted mountain roads, stopping when something catches my attention, and wander off to take photographs.
Since I don’t really know where I am, I can’t return to the same place again.
I decided to call these landscape that exists only within the photographs “Boukei” — a forgotten scenery.
Kota Sake
Born in 1973 in Musashino, Tokyo. Graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1997.
He has presented his photographic work in solo and group exhibitions both in Japan and abroad.
He runs the gallery and bar studio 35minutes near Arai Yakushi-mae station in Tokyo.
