このたび、スタジオ35分では、写真家 高橋恭司 による写真展「アアルトと自然」を開催いたします。
本作は2001年に建築雑誌「HOME」の依頼を受けて制作された写真群です。フィンランドの建築家 アルヴァー・アアルトの建築作品とその周囲に広がる自然環境を大型カメラ（8×10）によって丹念に捉えています。
1990年代の激動のなかで、高橋は多様なメディアに関わりながら、自身の思考と表現を深化させてきました。本作の撮影直後には、世界を大きく転換させた アメリカ同時多発テロ事件 が起こり、時代の空気もまた大きく変化していきます。そうした時代の節目に生まれた本作には静謐でありながらも、どこか緊張感を孕んだ視線が宿っています。
展示されるプリントはいずれも当時作家自身が暗室で制作したプリントです。なお高橋は、その後フィルムネガの大半を焼却しており、現存する作品は本展に出品されているヴィンテージ・プリントのみとなります。
巨匠 アルヴァー・アアルト の建築を時代の気配を鋭敏に捉える 高橋恭司が撮影した本作。本展を通して建築と自然、そして時間の層が静かに交差する世界をご堪能ください。

Studio 35 Minutes is pleased to present “Aalto and Nature,” a photography exhibition by Kyoji Takahashi.
This body of work was commissioned in 2001 by the architectural magazine HOME. Using a large-format (8×10) camera, Takahashi carefully captured the architecture of the Finnish architect Alvar Aalto alongside the surrounding natural environments.
Amid the turbulence of the 1990s, Takahashi engaged with diverse media while deepening his own thinking and expression. Shortly after completing this series, the world was profoundly shaken by the September 11 attacks, marking a dramatic shift in the global atmosphere. Created at this historical turning point, these works embody a gaze that is both serene and subtly charged with tension.
All prints exhibited are original prints made by the artist himself in the darkroom at the time. Notably, Takahashi later destroyed most of his film negatives, making the vintage prints presented in this exhibition the only surviving works.
In this series, Takahashi—renowned for his acute sensitivity to the spirit of the times—turns his lens toward the architecture of the master Alvar Aalto. Through this exhibition, we invite you to experience a world where architecture, nature, and layers of time quietly intersect.
