“as a mayfly” is Hanayo’s daily record and poem that is an afterimage of her memories spent in various countries and places.
In 2014, an exhibition of the same title was held at +81 GALLERY in New York, and was later published as a collection of photo book.
As a continuation of that, this exhibition will focus on monochrome prints taken from 2016 to 2023.
In conjunction with this exhibition, Baby Panda Publishing will also be releasing “as a mayfly II”.
This will be Hanayo’s solo exhibition at Studio 35 Minutes in 9 years since her exhibition “dim” in 2015.

HANAYO
Born in 1970. Based in Tokyo, Berlin, and London, Hanayo is active in many fields as a photographer, geisha, musician, and model.
Her photographs and collages capture her daily life in a dreamlike light that colors her surroundings.
Hanayo’s works have been exhibited many countries.
